Laurie's Cancer Fight!
Donation protected
Dear Family and Friends,
Our sister, Laurie Fultz-Ritchie, wears many hats: She is a special education teacher at Madison Elementary School, an active member of Ogden Church, a prior counselor who dedicated 50% of her caseload to pro bono clients, leader (with her husband John) of Damascus Road which is a non-profit that Laurie took over when our dad passed away in 2014, and avid volunteer in Adrian.
Laurie was recently diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma, which has, unfortunately, metastasized to her liver. The spot on her liver is 'stage 4' and in need of aggressive treatment. The rest of the cancer affects her bowel and digestion, requiring a highly specialized diet and is causing extreme pain. Praise God, Laurie and John have good insurance however, some of the treatments are not covered by insurance. Other expenses include multiple trips to Ann Arbor each week for appointments and chemotherapy/radiation treatment, gas, personal supplies she'll need at home, and a host of expenses not even known yet.
Laurie has spent her entire life as a 'giver'. If you know Laurie personally, this does not need to be explained. We are asking for people who are able, to reach out and make a donation to help alleviate some of the stress and financial burden caused to John and Laurie by this sudden news and quick transition to treatment. We also invite you to follow her progress at her Facebook page: Laurie's Cancer Fight.
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah: 29:11)
