Hi everyone,

This is a hard message to write, but I want to be open and share where I’m at right now—

Recently, I had surgery that was supposed to mark the end of a long journey with my physical health. The following week, things took a serious turn. One of my organs shut down, and I ended up in the ICU with septic shock due to medication complications.

I’m grateful to be home now and slowly recovering, but the truth is—this experience has left me shaken and physically drained, with a long recovery road ahead.

I have to focus on my health for a full recovery, and asking for help is not my strongest suit. I’ve always been the one pushing through, working hard, doing whatever it takes to care for my family. So with that, I’ve learned that if you don’t slow down and take care of yourself, things like this can happen.

If you know me, you know I am a tough one, stubborn, might even say I am strong-willed. This event has put a hard stop on everything. I will have no choice but to heal and put my health first which is somewhat challenging when you’re the main person to keep it all together.

I can’t thank my close friends and sister enough for coming together and rallying and making sure my kids were taken care I was in the hospital.

I am home and ready to recover and only moving forward.

Lucy is off to Grand Valley at the end of summer, and Rocco will be a freshman in high school in the fall.
