Sheralyn is a 28 yr old mother of 4 young children (ages 3-5-7-8) who are living in refuge in Queensland, Australia. She recently left a highly abusive marriage and family as well as the church she grew up in. She has filed for divorce and a restraining order.
Currently she is not working and has no support. Her family and friends are active in her former church and have ignored the domestic violence and are shunning her. She is trying to start a new life for her children and herself. Their current refuge living arrangements expire in 6 weeks. She is struggling with the high start up costs of a bond/deposit needed to rent and furnish a home (she is ineligible for a government bond loan.) Once they are settled, she plans to find work.
