Peeps is a very cool rescue kitty who was adopted from PAWS Atlanta last month. His dad Rusty stepped up to foster Peeps when the shelter had to suddenly shut down because of the COVID-19 pandemic back in March. Rusty fell in love with Peeps and decided to make it a “forever” thing by adopting him last month.
Last week, Peeps ate some string, which has become entangled around his intestines, forcing emergency surgery. The estimate is $2,500+. Rusty put down a deposit of $1300 and the surgery is planned for tonight at Animal Furist Medical Center in Atlanta. $2,500 is a lot of money for a guy who stepped up to do the right thing and fell for a sweet, string-eating kitty.
We want to help Rusty with some of the cost of his emergency surgery bills. All of the funds will go towards Peeps’ surgical costs and hospitalization. If there is anything extra, it will be donated to PAWS Atlanta. We’re hoping the PAWS Atlanta nation and Haboob’s friends will step up and help Peeps and Rusty get through this crisis.
