My husband is a pastor and our dear friends who are also a pastor’s family are in desperate need of financial help for their 20 year old son. David Mawson, urgently requires costly medical attention not covered by insurance.
I am re-writing the plea for financial help because there have been numerous new developments in David's story. The Mawsons started out on this journey thinking David's main medical problem was post concussion syndrome. However, after several brain scans, extensive blood work, and numerous tests, they have discovered that he actually (in addition to post concussion syndrome) has Lyme disease, Bartonella, and mold toxin, all of which are now in his brain. This is an extremely serious condition which requires extensive treatment.
The doctors he is now seeing all have said the Lyme, Bartonella, and mold toxin need to be treated immediately. His brain scans revealed the toxic load in his brain due to Lyme, etc. is a very serious condition that needs to be addressed right away. His post concussion syndrome, which is being exacerbated by the Lyme, cannot be addressed without treating the Lyme and co-infections first.
They have an appointment scheduled in a few weeks for him to go for a consultation to a place called Envita in Arizona. They believe God could use this place to treat his Lyme and other issues, but it is extremely costly!
The Lyme in his brain and central nervous system, along with post concussion syndrome, has affected his brain in such a unique and serious way, that he is in constant pain.
We are raising money for David to receive specialized treatment for Chronic Lyme Disease, etc. David's case is rare. In addition to having multiple infections he has also suffered from several concussions. We have been working with both the Amen Clinic and Envita Medical Center to gain insight into how we can help David. Envita Medical Center has developed treatment protocols that help to access neurological infections. When infections enter the brain, they become far more difficult to treat, because of the body's natural defense called the Blood Brain Barrier. Envita has treatment protocols that can help the antibiotics shuttle past the Blood Brain Barrier and address the infections that are affecting David's central nervous system. They have tried other routes of care for David in the past 7 years and none have proven effective.
The Mawsons have high hopes that with Envita Medical Center's expertise and additional testing, David can finally experience relief.
This young man should be able to attend college, play sports, work a job, etc.. Instead he suffers constantly from a myriad of symptoms, including, but not limited to nausea, eye pain, sensitivity to light and noise, headaches, brain fog, the inability to concentrate, poor memory, mood challenges, and sleep issues which lead to debilitating fatigue. Naturally his parents are beyond concerned and they are crying out to the Lord for their son.
Anything anyone might be able to give would be greatly appreciated and their prayers are that God will be honored and glorified through David's story of healing.
They believe this is the right place for him, but it will be very costly, since he will be there for 6 to 12 weeks. The cost ranges between $45,000 - $85,000 depending on treatment and length of stay.
