Coach Pearce & Family
Donation protected
I am organizing funds for our dear friend’s (Kevin Pearce) medical expenses and family. Kevin and Katherine recently were told that
Kevin would need heart bypass surgery. He is 38 years old, in great shape, and healthy. He has never stayed overnight in the hospital. He stays actively involved with his athletic kiddos and his two young boys. This has been a major blow to them emotionally and mentally. It
started out as an uncomfortable feeling in his lower sternum area, to a supposed muscle strain, to a gastrointestinal issue needing a
script as all bloodwork, chest X-rays, and EKG findings were great. Then, after a stress test was ordered as a precautionary measure due to heart issues on Kevin’s paternal side, it became much more than expected. After an abnormal stress test, he was ordered to come in for an angiogram and possible stent pending the angio’s results — to leaving the procedure hours later with news that he had 100%
blockage in his left artery for quite a ways and the stent was unable to be placed. Therefore
he either needed to be put in touch with a specialist or undergo heart bypass surgery. With prayers and research, the bypass surgery was chosen as the most quality, research proven route. He went from uncomfortable
pain, to the possible need of a prescription, to a more serious/possible stent issue, to the
extreme news of heart blockage and heart bypass surgery. The surgery is set for this coming Friday, August 7th.
Kevin and Katherine are both educators. They have put years of service and love into their district, it’s students, and community. They do have insurance, but we all know you have to meet your deductible (which isn’t cheap), and pay all the extras such as anesthesiologist, prescriptions, surgeon, etc. This is on top of
the $22,000 angiogram surgery bill, a recent roof deductible and two vehicle deductibles from the May hail storm. It’s been one hit after another for them as of late, and they need your support, but would never ask for it. They already have a meal train set up and support from their friends and family in that aspect.
Many of us always want to help out but are never sure how - prayers are powerful, food is comforting, but money is a huge mental relief. We all know this. Can you make a monetary donation to aid this sweet family
who has done so much for so many in their time of need?
