No Stomach For Cancer
Donation protected
June 8th 2020 we received the call we’ve been anticipating for 2 weeks. This call determined if we would have to worry about the “C” word no one ever wants to hear. Unfortunately my husband Henry came out positive for the CDH1 gene mutation. For those who don’t know what it is, people who test positive have a high probability of developing Hereditary Difusse Gastric Cancer. It’s considered a high risk gene mutation that is very hard to detect in the early stages therefore physicians opt for an aggressive approach. As a family we have decided to move forward with his physicians recommendation for a total gastrectomy(removing his stomach) . He has two beautiful boys that need their daddy and we won’t let cancer get in the way of our family’s future. This is a costly surgery that we never anticipated so we’re reaching out for help. Help us keep cancer out of Henry’s path. I want to thank you guys for reading and helping in any way possible.
