My name is Austin Bourret. I have been competing in Freestyle mogul skiing for the past 12 years. My goal is to make the U.S. Freestyle Ski Team this winter! I need your help to make this happen!
WHY
I currently work full-time at a restaurant at the Canyons resort, but with training, traveling and competition costs as high as they are, I must seek outside support. Please help me reach my goal of making the U.S. Ski Team this winter! I have devoted my life to following this dream and seeing it pan out after everything I have put in would be the most satisfying event of my life.
MY STORY
My passion for skiing stems from the day when my dad took me skiing in a baby backpack when I was six-months-old. Unfortunately, I had to wait until I could walk for my parents to put me on skis. When I was two, I took my first runs at Alpine Meadows in Lake Tahoe. Eventually, I found that all I wanted to do was go fast and jump. Ever since then, I’ve been pushing myself to go a little bit faster and a little bit higher.
When I was 10, my family moved to Ketchum, Idaho from the Bay Area. I loved jumping, so I joined the Sun Valley Freestyle Team where I found my passion for skiing moguls on the world-famous bump runs. Soon, competing prioritized my winters and I had a dream of making the U.S. Freestyle Ski Team. I skied for the Sun Valley Freestyle team for six years while attending the Community School. The education I received through both programs was incredible!
Five years ago, I moved to Park City, UT and joined the Park City Freestyle Team. With the opportunities I've had on Park City Freestyle, I have pushed toward my goals, having my best seasons ever. Currently, I am preparing for the upcoming Nor-Am season and hope to advance to the U.S. Team and World Cup mogul events.
In the off-season, I continue to make progress toward my Mechanical Engineering degree at Boise State University.
WHAT I NEED
In addition to the income from my jobs, I AM SHOOTING TO RAISE AN ADDITIONAL $5000 TO HELP PAY FOR TRAVELING, TRAINING AND COMPETITION EXPENSES. WE HAVE UNTIL NOVEMBER 5TH TO COMPLETE THE FUNDRAISER.
I will be traveling throughout Canada and the U.S. on the Nor-Am tour and to other events this winter, all of which is expensive, so any amount of support is an enormous help!
MY TEAM
I would like to thank my parents, Lucy and Jamie Bourret, all of my family, my coaches, Mick Berry, Chris Marchetti, Glenn Eddy and John Zuck, as well as all my teammates. Without your support, encouragement and friendship, I couldn’t have made it this far.
OTHER WAYS TO HELP
If you can’t make a donation, please share my Go Fund Me page with anyone who may be willing to help. Please post the link to your Facebook or Twitter. The more people I can get to see this the better!
