If you had the opportunity to change the world for a young girl, would you do it? If you could ensure the health and safety of both mother and child, would you jump at the chance? If you had the chance to save somebody's life, would you seize that opportunity?
Globally, there are approximately 131 million girls that are not enrolled in school. But you can help change that, and by doing so, change the world. For every extra year a girl can attend school, her income can increase by 15% to 25%. 90% of which is reinvested in her family and community. Ensuring the education of young girls globally has a ripple effect that can change the world.
Educating young girls and keeping them in school can help to ensure their health and safety. About 16 million girls between the ages of 15-19 give birth each year. In 9 out of 10 of these cases, the girls are already married, not in school, and are caught in a cycle of poverty and sexual slavery. Complications from these pregnancy's and child birth continue to be the leading cause of death among adolescent girls aged 15-19 in low and middle-income countries.
Community Commitment to Girls Education, through the Hamburg High School Civic Engagement Club, is launching an effort to address these issues facing young women in developing nations, and you can be a part of it. By partnering with SOLA , we can ensure the health, safety, and education of young girls. We can make a difference. We can save a life. We can help them change the world.
