Hello Friends and Family,
You all know me as a great father and provider for my family. In 2009, my world of income production came to a crashing halt. I moved my business to Miami, Florida in 2008 and was on the cusp of a very successful start when the banking system crashed. I was forced into an early retirement and social security benefits.
With help from friends and family, I was able to scrape by and help support my daughter Tara as she attended courses at Miami-Dade college; even while becoming homeless, living in less than desireable conditions and constantly shuffling.
In 2012, I was compelled to move to Texas to support my eldest daughter Andrea through a tumultuous divorce. Unfortunate circumstances have led me to apply for a government subsidized apartment after my eldest daughter received her help from me, and subsequently cut all of her ties with me. I am here in a suburb of Houston, Texas for the past 2 years, apart from all loving family and friends. As I am approaching 70 and facing on coming health issues, it has been my heart’s desire to return to Florida to be close to my caring daughter Tara, and within driving distance from the rest of my loving family.
Last Friday, I received a phone call from a apartment complex in Grove City Florida telling me that an apartment will be available by the end of October. (about a half hour drive from where Tara is). The amount of income I get from social security is just enough to survive on month to month, thus I can’t travel, repair my 13 year old car or afford a physical move with my belongings.
It humbles me to ask but I thought that if even 30 of my family and friends on Facebook could contribute $100.00 in the next two weeks, then I could make this move and be close to my supportive and loving family.
