My name is Ava and I’m a 25 year old living in Washington. On Friday night (technically Saturday morning at 12:30am) I was woken up to an orange glow and fire alarms… my stove caught fire and burnt the kitchen. I was able to get all of my animals out safely (with only one pet having minor burns) they are shaken up, but will be okay. The sprinklers then could not be turned off and my items that weren’t burnt, were drenched in dirty water. The “maintenance” team did not allow me any time to move remaining items and caused more damage with how they threw my belongings outside on the porch or shoved into a wet bathroom. They then told me I had less than a day to get my things out and find alternative living so they could stay demolition. My apartment complex told me I wouldn’t be able to move back in for 6-8 weeks. I am currently living day to day with my pets in boarding. I am running out of money fast and my apartment complex is not allowing me to break lease without penalty. I am being forced to take time off of work to remove my remaining things from the apartment, find a place to stay. I am trying to pay my monthly bills, food, hospital stay, pet care/pet food, and fire restoration. I am trying to remain positive and am looking for help with basic necessities, housing, and a chance to restore the life I worked hard to build. I appreciate your time looking at this page.
