Build a future for PAWS

Tax deductible
In February 2022, P.A.W.S was handed a Section 25 Notice, through the hard work of the P.A.W.S team and the unprecedented support of the community, donors, volunteers and supporters, P.A.W.S continued to use legal recourse to gain an extension on the deadline date of 5th August 2022 for vacant possession. However, the time has come where we must move or face closing permanently. After long legal negotiations the landlord has agreed that P.A.W.S must vacate the current premises by the 31st of July 2023. This is devastating and means P.A.W.S and Susan Curran, Centre Manager, are losing their homes. Without permanent residence P.A.W.S cannot sustainably continue its invaluable work supporting the local community, helping to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome cats and dogs, who through no fault of their own require rehoming.

As of March 2023 an offer was accepted on our new home! We still need your help. We are now fundraising to build a future for cats and dogs who need their second chance at happiness. The land we have purchased currently only has a stables and a large container. Planning costs alone cost £4k.

We need to build:
  • A cattery that has a quarantine space for cats who are ill or new intakes to be assessed. Each cattery pen will also have a catio so the cats have space to roam and get their sunbathing in.
  • A kennel with covered and uncovered outdoor space where the dogs can eat, sleep and socialise. Plus we need an area where we can run assessments and training on our dogs to make sure they go to the right home.
  • A reception space that is accessible so potential adopters can chat to volunteers to start their journey to become Rescue PAWrents.
  • A staff area that is clean, warm and welcoming so volunteers can relax, eat and enjoy being at PAWS.

We also want to make the future PAWS as sustainable as possible with solar panels and an eco friendly remembrance garden for PAWS pets and past residents to finally be at peace.

We are proud to be a part of so many communities and have saved and rehabilitated animals from Todmorden, Littleborough, Rochdale, Burnley and Halifax!

Please help us Save PAWS by donating and sharing our story with the #BuildPAWSafuture

We know things are really hard at the moment and a lot of us are fighting for survival. Even if you can only donate £1 it would make a huge difference to us and our animals.

Thank you so much love, Sue, the cats, the dogs and everyone at PAWS. Thank you for giving us a second chance at happiness.
