Help, I’m Drowning

Hi I’m Cecilia a Massage Therapist in North New Jersey. I run my small business that solely relies on my vehicle to supplement my income. My main job is at a resort spa that is 30 minutes away from my temporary living situation with no public transportation. I’ve been working toward saving for a permanent living situation. I had 1 month to do so, I understood it would be challenging but not impossible.

Saturday afternoon as I was leaving the spa, I came out to my car completely submerged under water due to some leaves plugging up a drain pipe and pooling water while I was at work. All factors which we’re out of my control. Who do you blame? The parking structure? The maintenance person for not clearing out the leaves? The weather??? I don’t even want to play the blame game it won’t resolve anything.

My insurance will not cover the total damages plus rental car and I’ll have to quit my job for lack of transportation. I know I know, it’s a lot and I understand it’s just a material thing. But this material thing which I’ve based my livelihood on is destroyed.

from this experience, I’ve concluded;

all I need is a place to live, I’m not getting another car anytime soon and a chance to get my chin above water.
