Lora’s Recovery

Many of you have known my mom Lora for a long time as she is so close with so many people and such a beacon of light to us all.

Unfortunately 4 weeks ago she underwent a surgery that changed the course of both our lives. After 3 surgeries as opposed to the 1, and a surprise diagnosis of advanced stage 3 ovarian cancer we are starting to realize the healing phase from this will take much more than we originally thought. Before going home she will either need to go to a skilled nursing facility or hire a private round the clock nurse for a while and unfortunately with Medicaid that private care is not something we can afford. In addition, sending her to a nursing facility right now where with COVID no one, including myself, would be able to visit, is not an option for us as mentally she is struggling after so long in the hospital. So here I am reaching out to our incredible community to see if we are able to get some financial support to get her the proper care that she needs before starting the treatments for cancer so that she can be strong enough to endure.
