My name is Jim Bauserman, and my son, Justin, needs a second lung transplant.
When he had his first translpant back in 1994, his life was much different than it is today. He was a weak 12 year-old boy whose only option was an emergency operation.
During the past two decades, Justin has fulfilled many of life's goals, including having a family of his own, and he and his wife are expecting their second child this summer.
Justin's life is much more complicated than when he was 12, and his family needs funds for travel expenses and the costs associated with relocation. While Justin lives in the Indianapolis area, he will need to live in Durham to be close to Duke University Medical Center for up to 12 months while waiting for and then receiving his second lung transplant and three month rehab aftert transplant.
During this time, Justin will not be able to work, and the burden of financially running two households will be hard for his family to manage while also trying to cover the medical costs of the transplant itself.
Justin will need to start using these funds within the next 3 months as he will be spending a week in Durham for a formal evaluation in March before being listed and relocating during the summer.
Not having to worry about whether his family's bills will be paid or whether he will be able to cover the medical expenses will allow Justin to focus on what matters: getting healthy again and returning to his life and family.
Please help Justin secure his future. We think God has more for him to accomplish in this life.
