Obaid's Tuition Fund

In 2013, an NBC News team first met Obaid; at 12 years old, he'd just lost his legs and two siblings, after a mortar shell struck his home in Kabul, Afghanistan.  He was traumatized by the events. But his devastation quickly turned to determination – fitted with prosthetics, he took his first shaky steps and hasn't looked back since. Thanks to years of financial support from an NBC "Nightly News" viewer he'll soon graduate, at the top of his class, from one of Kabul's best high schools. This is not the end of Obaid's story, his success has only fueled his ambitions, "One day I was in hospital and I thinking I lost everything, now I want to be the president of Afghanistan," he recently told NBC's Richard Engel.

To make his dreams a reality, he hopes to attend college in the U.S., but he can't do it alone. Please help this incredible young man with a donation, small or large, every little bit counts.
