Jalene Cartwright is a 1st Class Firefighter with the Fort McMurray Fire Department and is a top rated competitor in the sport of Firefit. Jalene is such a fierce contender that 2 of the top ranked women have dubbed her (on TSN) as 'the future of the sport'. Her impressive skill on the course usually places her in the top 3, typically first and she is curently the female record holder in Alberta.
Jalene has traveled as far as Dubai to compete in Firefit and has represented Fort McMurray very proudly everywhere she has visited. She is off to the Firefighter Combat Challenge in Phoenix AZ on November 3 2014 to compete in the World Firefighter Challenge.
Jalene is a member of the FMFD Firefit team and usually runs under sponsorship via the team however Jalene is attending the Phoenix event solo. This means that she will be traveling and competing without financial support.
As Jalene has already competed in more than 8 competitions around the world this year, I am looking to help raise some additional funds to assist her to achieve her goals in November. All of the money raised will be used to help her pay for registration fees, flights, new gear and accommodations.
