Dear family and friends,
Hello, just recently I have been nominated to go on a nine day trip to Peru. Me and all of the other nominees will be going on a school trip to Peru in June. When I found out, I was very excited for the trip. I have never been outside the country before and always have wanted to travel outside of the country. This trip to Peru will give me the opportunity to gain global awareness. I will be able to go outside the country to explore another country along with their cultural and traditional values. One thing about me is that I am a huge history geek and Peru being one of the areas of the world where a major ancient civilization started is very interesting to me. This trip also takes my second favorite subject which is art. This trip to Peru combines art and history into one making it the best of both worlds.
This trip (along with the experience of a lifetime) gives me the chance to receive 5 service hours, participate in leadership activities, and amazing sights to see. We will be traveling to Lima, the Andes, Cuzco, the Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu. Machu Picchu has always been a place I’ve only dreamed of going to. Machu Picchu one of the biggest ancient ruins in Peru and rich with ancient history. The goal of the trip is for us to participate in authentic experiences and to teach responsibilities, leadership, and cultural awareness. We will be going to schools in the area and seeing how students in peru go through their days.
All funding goes towards the trip. I need to raise $3,620 dollars for the trip to be able to go. The deposit of $250 dollars has already been paid. Any support or donation that could be offered would be highly appreciated.
