Gary's last wish

Donation protected
My name is Natalie, and I am setting up this go fund me page for my husband Gary.

Firstly, I need to say that I never thought that I would have to ask for help, but that time has come and have been encouraged to do this by friends and family.

In October 2021 we had the devastating news that Gary has an aggressive form of cancer, a neuroendocrine tumour of the oesophagus, which unfortunately is terminal. The Doctors prognosis for Gary’s life expectancy is less than a year.

Gary has already started his 3-month intense session of chemotherapy which the Doctors are hoping will give him a better quality of life, but as this is an aggressive form of cancer, we know that it will eventually catch up and spread to other parts of his body. Already having spread to his liver.

Although meeting Gary in my later years, I knew that I had met the man of my dreams, he is my best friend and my soul mate. When Gary proposed to me, I was over the moon, and we married in April 2021 in a very quiet ceremony and later in August we had a wedding garden party. I thought that our life together was going to be a long and happy one. However, unfortunately this has been cut short after receiving this devasting news.

Gary is a very keen fisherman, and there’s only one wish on his bucket list which is to go to Thailand to fish for the famous Mekong Catfish and Arapaima weighing over 560lbs. Gary’s journey has not been easy so far and we know that we have even more tough times ahead.

Gary is trying to stay very positive and the thought that he may be able to go to Thailand brings him some hope that he may fulfil his last wish and at the same time make memories that will stay with me forever. Gary is a self-employed carpenter, and he is not able to work full time now due to his chemotherapy making him ill, which means money for the trip is very tight.

To get myself and Gary on this trip it’s going to cost me around £1,200 for flights, £1,300 for the fishing with accommodation included and insurance for the trip about £1,000 due to the terminal illness.

Our time together is now limited, and my only wish is to get him to Thailand to fulfil his last dream as soon as we can. I am praying that the power the internet will help me. Any share or donation big or small would mean the world to us both.

Thank you,

Natalie & Gary.
