Help us care for our mother

On Saturday May 17, our mom (Val) went into cardiac arrest while at the grocery store and was resuscitated after 20 mins of being down. After a CT scan to clear her from a brain bleed, after collapsing in the grocery store, she was taken to the cardiac catheterization lab. Cardiologist said she is occluded and will need surgery, CABG. They have been keeping her comfortable and stable for 72 hours before doing an MRI. The MRI is scheduled for the 20th. On the 19th she was waking up more, and has more neuro response. Not awake fully. She did stay on the spontaneous breathing function from 6am until 8pm on the ventilator. Which means she was mainly breathing on her own! Until we have MRI results we do not know the extent of any possible damage.

Due to this unexpected event, there is no money coming for our mother’s bills. She is a platinum door dasher and worked every day 5 am to 5pm to try and make whatever she could for her bills and rent. Our mother is an incredible person and hard worker. She does not ask for help, but we as her children are asking for her. So many have had nothing but kind words and what has been consistent is that our mother is a strong woman, a special woman, and the most beautiful kind soul. Please help us maintain our mother’s bills during her recovery. If anyone deserves this kindness it is our beautiful mother.
