Hi! My name is Rachel Harding.  I went to get a massage from a dear friend that finished school for massage therapy and during the massage we found a couple lumps come out from under my left clavicle (collar bone). I went to the doctor and got tested for cat scratch fever and mono and both came back negative. So my doctor ordered a catscan and found multiple lymph nodes swollen in both sides of my neck, around my heart, and into my back. So I was sent for a biopsy & within 5 days after my procedure I was told I had Hodgkin’s lymphoma and that I couldn’t do any surgery and had to start chemo! But before I could start chemo I had to have my eggs retrieved before chemo (27 with no kids, would love kids one day) I got sent to Birmingham to a fertility clinic and was told by my insurance they wouldn’t cover any of the procedures, medicines because it wasn’t “medically necessary” even though my oncologist & fertility doctor called and stated it was. That’s not even the first problem I’ve had with this horrible United Healthcare insurance. I know everyone is having their own problems and money is tight and I would never normally ask for help (I’ve always tried to get it taken care of before ever asking for help) but I have no other choice. I am so thankful for the everyone that has donated or even shared my story! I will update as I go through this journey. Thank y’all.
