Very early last Saturday morning I was displaced by a large fire at my apartment building.

You may have read about the Monona fire in the news. The building is uninhabitable and there is no timeline on getting back in to access damages or acquire any of our things. My apartment acquired many inches of water damage.

I thankfully got out safely with my cat, Big Dee. Others were not as lucky and one person did pass in the fire.

Friends have given or loaned me clothes, I have temporary safe housing and am eating very good meals thanks to my boyfriend Jon.

I'm deeply grateful to everyone reaching out to help. I'm in contact with the American Red Cross and Salvation Army for support.

I really need to get back on track with some very basic essentials, such as medicines, supplements and the day to day things that help keep me well and grounded.

I sadly did not have renters insurance (I was about to purchase it literally this week and was comparing insurance rates).

This is an exceptionally challenging situation and I am feeling beyond stunned, not knowing what the path forward will entail.

Aside from this go-fund-me, I'm making a list of items to borrow until I can know what condition things are in.
