James Baker Memorial Fund
Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart that I am starting this memorial fund in honor of my stepfather, James Baker. On November 16, 2023, James suffered a heart attack in our family home. Lifesaving efforts were made, but he was without oxygen for too long. Our family is devastated, and we are all doing our best to get through this tragic loss hour by hour and day by day.
For those of you who didn't know James, he was a very kind soul with a very big heart. He was a father of 6 (plus one on the way), a loving husband, and caring son. James loved traveling and enjoyed sharing life with us as a family. Fatherhood was everything to him. He loved spending time with his kids and beloved wife more than anything in the world. Some of our best memories were centered around movie and game nights.
When James found out my mother was pregnant just three days before his passing, he was overjoyed and concerned all at the same time. When my mom was pregnant with my, now one year old brother, she had a very high risk pregnancy that rendered her on bed rest for a large part of it. James and my mom, while excited, were both stressed about what this pregnancy would bring as the doctors said that she would likely have to be on bed rest again. As you can imagine, this is causing some added financial burden on top of the intense grieving my mom and our family are going through.
As mentioned, James is survived by 6 children and one on the way. 3 of his children live in St. Clement, Jersey, and they are currently living in a hotel as their home was destroyed by a hurricane last week. James was doing his best to support his children through this process. We are trying our best to raise enough money so that we can mourn the loss of my stepfather with my siblings in St. Clement together as a family. I know that is what James would have wanted.
It would mean a lot if you could donate or share James' memorial fund with others. We also ask that you say a prayer for our family for healing and strength. James will always hold a special place in all of our hearts.
