Brett’s Medical Bills

On Monday Josh and Brooke took their second son, Brett, to an ophthalmologist appointment. They went in fully expecting he would need glasses and they would be on their way, looking even more adorable than he already did (if even possible). The ophthalmologist came in and within 5 minutes of the exam told them they needed to go to Wolfsons Children’s Hospital emergency room. Upon arrival they did a CT scan and saw a tumor in his brain. They sent them up to the ICU and prepared him for the journey ahead. On Tuesday they implanted a drain to help pull some of the fluid that was building up in his brain. They kept him sedated and intubated to do an MRI to determine the extent of the tumor. The images revealed a tumor in the posterior brain. The surgeons set his surgery time for 8:30 on Wednesday. Sweet boy was in surgery until 9pm. The doctors feel optimistic that they were able to resect most of the tumor if not all. Brett is still sedated and intubated and will remain that way for a couple of days to control the pain and make sure he is recovering well. The tumor was sent off to pathology and the results should be back next week.
Bubba still has a long road ahead of him and of course it is taking its toll on the family. Josh and Brooke have two other boys who miss their bubba. They are the best brothers to each-other and are pretty inseparable. Please pray for the whole family!
There will be a lot of medical bills from this journey. We ask that you consider donating to help alleviate some of the financial burden.
Thank you for your prayers and help!
