Hi, my name is Kyle. I’m a father to a 7 year old, 6 year old and a 3 year old. I raise my children with my fiancée.

We had a private rented home, by a migrant who came to the UK. This landlord promised 24/7 repairs.

We suffered tremendously for years from things like - no boiler, radiators leaking (puddles in our bedroom), plug sockets setting on fire, the electricity motherboard under the stairs was outdated years and dangerous to live in but the landlord told the electrician not to tell us the works he was doing, our son had NO source of heating in his bedroom for FOUR YEARS. The council failed us, the disrepair solicitors we had won the case, he paid compensation, agreed to carry out ALL repairs in X amount of days, at the end of the X amount of days, he issued a 21a no fault eviction.

i was in the process of getting solicitor to represent me and they asked me to ask the judge to adjourn it, so they could show and prove this was issued out of retaliation for suing him. The court/judge refused and issued an accelerated procedure which gave us 14 days to leave.

it is so close to Christmas. We are looking for a new home immediately. Our kids had to leave half of their belongings behind, along with leaving their school and their friends.

we are going to sue the landlord but we want to get our family situated first. Never in my life did I ever think I would have to create anything like this and ask for help, but life happens and sadly it has come to that point.

I am doing this as a test, to see if there is a way for us to get help, but I am not banking on it or expect anyone to give me a “hand out”.

We was neglected as a family. Landlord upped the rent 4 times in 12-24 months as a way of “bullying” us out the property. He stated to the courts we had 1.5k rent arrears even though I paid rent every month for 4 years (NEVER MISSED A PAYMENT) but now we are out, the landlord has magically wiped the rent arrears clear and I just got a call today to say the landlord refuses to issue the deposit back and now they are harassing me to give consent to give it back to the landlord which I obviously don’t agree too.

this is the first time I have ever used this website or asked anyone other than my immediate family for help, and I am sorry that I have to do this. It’s not a nice feeling at all as I know there are a lot more serious gofunds me out there!
