Hi, my name is Lauren and I am creating this gofundme on behalf of my brother, Michael. Michael was diagnosed with diverticulitis along with an abscess that ruptured his colon in early September. He recently has been hospitalized four times, underwent a handful of procedures, and eventually had a surgery to remove the infected part of his colon on October 6th. This journey has been tough on Michael and his family to say the least. From complication after complication and a long recovery that is not yet over, it has been very scary for Michael and his family. Michael couldn’t work during this time, and his wife, Brooke, took weeks off of work to stay home to care for him and their two children. They have been scraping by with help from their families, but the medical bills are piling up. Michael is not out of the woods yet with his recovery, and is currently battling yet another abscess that has come with pricey IV antibiotics that he is administering at home with the help of a home health nurse. Michael and his family are asking for donations to help with the costs of medical bills, medication, and home healthcare services to alleviate the stress and pressure on himself, his wife, and their two young children.
