Violets DDH and Spica Cast Journey
Donation protected
On November 4, 2015, our beautiful 22 month old girl was diagnosed with Developmental Dysplasia of the hip. Her left hip is completely disloacated and the most severe level of DDH. Over the next few years, Violet will go through surgeries to reconstruct her hip joint, possible shorten her femur and reset the joint. She will spend numerous weeks in a full body cast called a Spica cast. She then will have a long journey of physical therapy to relearn to walk and use her legs. This will completely limit her daily activities and will require lots and lots of love and patience as we spend our days working on puzzles and small art projects. As well as the physical aspect, she will be struggling with not being able to move around on her own for awhile. This will be such a hard process for us and we will have a lot of new expenses (even diaper changes will require up to 3 diapers per change). We pray she has the minimum done and she heals quickly, but we will not know until the doctor gets in there and takes a look.
We appreciate each and everyone of you.
Matt, Jessica, Violet and Morgan.
