Ian left us unexpectedly on Sunday, September 21. His family has just lost an amazing parent and a loving husband, and countless people have just lost a wonderful friend. This was not supposed to happen, but it somehow has. There's no asking why -but, instead, what to do to help make things better for those staying behind. It's hard to do this when we can still hear Ian's voice and laughter, and we keep feeling his presence all over the place... We are going to try and find some comfort in getting together to share our memories of Ian's and keeping them alive. For that purpose, a memorial service and reception will be held at St. John's Norwood Parish (6701 Wisconsin Avenue, Chevy Chase, MD 20815) on Saturday, October 4 at 4:00 PM.
Ian's family wants to thank the outpouring of sympathy and the generosity of everybody who has reached out and contributed to Ian's Memorial Fund. All contributions exceeding the funeral expenses will be used to start a college fund for Juliet (15) and Christopher Blake (13), so as to help realize Ian's dream of building a good future for his children.
