Dee's Cancer Fund

Hi, My name is Nikki. I’m starting this fundraiser to help my mom Dee Swatzell-Herold with upcoming medical bills and monthly expenses. Over the past two weeks my mom has been in and out of the hospital for shoulder and back pain, then an allergic reaction that cause some tongue swelling. While in the hospital the Dr's found a spot on her lung in a CT Scan, with further imaging it was determined that it was CANCER!.

My mom has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung cancer that has metastasized to other organs. She was immediately referred to her Oncology team where they quickly sent her to In-Patient Chemo to stop/slow the rapid growth. Mom has undergone cycle 1 of her 4 cycle Chemotherapy. We meet with the radiation team this week. I will continue to update everyone through our Caring Bridge page as we continue.

My mom has been unable to work for the past few weeks due to the hospital visits and recovery. The next couple of months she will undergo 3 more cycles of Chemotherapy with Immunotherapy and Radiation. She plans to return to work when she is able. She will be off work each week after her therapy as the side effects wipe her out.
