Phil Mast's Surgery

In January 2013, My dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer. Shortly after, he had surgery to have the cancer removed. Some of the lymph nodes they took out were  positive. He went through 6 months of Chemo treatments and finished in July 2013. At the beginning of this year, they found that one of the lymph nodes near his Aorta was active. So he went to Moffit in Tampa to decide what needed to be done. He wanted to have surgery to ge the lymph node taken out. Moffit decided if he did 3 months of "Full Fiery Chemo" that they would do surgery.  After finshing chemo, he started getting the run around about doing more chemo, and not doing more chemo. One day they would tell him he had more chemo and the next day they said he didn't need chemo. While waiting he continued doing chemo treatments. For a total of 8months of chemo this year. Moffitt decided that they were not going to do surgery and that they wanted him to stay on chemo the rest of his life. He asked the doctor "How long is the rest of my life? 3 years, 5 years, 10 years? How long can my body do chemo without getting used to it?" Her response was they are always coming up with new things and when they do we can try that.  Dad and Que decided that wasn't a good enough answer so they looked for a 2nd opinion. They talked to doctors in Minnesota and those doctors wanted him to do 28 rounds of radiation, take a month off and then they would do surgery. They said doing it this way they have had a 75% cure rate!! My dad went through all the radiation, they went to Minnesota to meet with the doctors. Now his insurance has decided they aren't going to cover the surgery! He has to put a 68,000 deposit down for the surgery. Surgery is scheduled for October 14th. Any amount that you are able to donate is greatly appareciated!!  $68,000 is alot to raise and although it would be amazing to meet that goal I have made the goal $34,000 which is half of what is needed for the deposit. I know it is a lot of money but I also know anything can be done and through the power of prayer! Thank you in advance for your donations and prayers!
