McKenzie Huisman Medical Fund
Donation protected
We would like to start this fund to help the Huisman family. McKenzie Huisman was an incredible student at City School for 4 years, and is now a freshman in high school. McKenzie was recently diagnosed with a rare case of Adrenocorticol Carcinoma, one of the first cases in Spokane County. Her surgery to have the tumor on her adrenal gland removed was a success, but she still requires addional treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation to treat this rare genetic cancer. As always, insurance has been reluctant to pay, and the best treatment for this type of cancer is only available in Seattle (or Tennessee). The funds raised will help with medical, travel, and everyday living expenses for the family. Both parents are taking time off of their jobs and school to see McKenzie through the next phase of her treatment, and the financial toll is huge. McKenzie is the oldest of 4 siblings, and the Huisman family has incredible support from extended family for the care of her siblings, but taking the edge off of the financial responsibilties would be a godsend to this family right now. Any support, whether it be prayer, positive thought, or financial, would be greatly appreciated. Updates on McKenzie's fight will be posted by the family on caringbridges.org. Thank you so much for your support of this incredible family!
