Help Save Barkley

This is my best friend Barkley boy. I found him 4 days after my 14 year old dog Chase passed, and I truly think that I found him for a reason. He's a 2 year old giant headed mix of a dog that is the kindest and sweetest dog you could ever meet. He has never met a person or animal that he didn't immediately fall in love with, and given nose boops which his way of affection. On April 6th he went out for the day like any other while I was at work. Later that day, a senseless act of a careless neighbor burning trash in the dry woods, led to the building near where he stays during the day, to be engulfed in flames. it wasn't until the fire department arrived that he was able to be released where he had already suffered so much. He was quickly taken to the ER Vet in Greenville NC, and then spent 5 days at his local vet where it was found that he was burned far worse than originally thought. It was then decided that his best shot to make it, was to be taken to NC State Veterinary Hospital, where he is still fighting.  He has had to have multiple surgeries to remove dead skin that have led to him having very large open wounds, and has had to have vacuum systems put on his wounds to try and keep him from getting an infection. He will need more surgeries in the weeks ahead and continued care from the ICU. He has his down days but has already come farther than the vets had hoped and does a little better every day and continues to be the tough boy he is. For those that know me well, you know that this isn't easy to be asking as I haven't ever wanted to have my hands out begging. But here I am, as I don't have any other options. I have already spent over $24,000 and keep being told that a lawyer is probably not going to lead to me being able to recoup anything in order to help pay for his continued care. I have a limited amount of time to get to the next minimum deposit as I'm exhausted financially. Its one of the toughest things I've ever had to do to even be putting this GoFundMe together and I am realistic about not reaching my goal but I have to try any and everything I can to try and fight for my Barkley boy as hard as he's fighting for me right now.
