Help Jamie with this battle of BRCA for Gavin❤️

Hi Friends. This fundraising has been established because I have a journey ahead of me.

In May I began looking at possible commercial space for opening a salon and extending my services. Thing we’re going great.

Late May arrived and I found out that my Aunt had been battling Triple Negative Cancer and it had been revealed that the family had the Breast Cancer Mutation. 4/100 women have this mutation. My mother tested positive and that left me with a 50/50 chance of having it as well.

On June 12 I got my test results and I am positive for the BRCA2 mutation. Since then my life has changed. It’s been constant trips to see oncologists and surgeons at Dana Farber. This mutation gives me an increased risk of 87% for breast cancer and an increased risk

of ovarian cancer. Considering, I am approaching 50 in a few years, my risk is going up. In order to survive and extend my life to be here for my son, Gavin who is 9, I have been advised that a hysterectomy and a mastectomy with reconstruction would be best. This will reduce my risk to 2% and extend my life span. It’s going to be a long year of surgeries and recovery, hopefully without complications.

I feel this would be the responsible thing to do as a single mother and so I don’t get sick when my son is in his thriving years.

Due to everything that I will be enduring, I cannot open my business and I won’t be able to work for awhile. Probably late Spring of next year. I am not eligible for any disability as I don’t currently have cancer. Any help would go towards medical services, medical supplies, mastectomy bras, mastectomy pillows, nursing services, a reclining chair to sleep in, meal services, child care help, anything insurance doesn’t cover and providing stability for my son while we go through this. ♥️
