It is not easy for me to reach out for help but I am recently retired and homeless. I’ve lived an incredible life; I was a missionary in Jamaica with my family Church just after graduating high school, I was incredibly proud to be a medic in the US Army, and my life has been filled with dozens of incredible moments.

Five years ago my life changed dramatically;

My fiancé passed away just a few months before the covid19 pandemic. My heart was broken and it became difficult to come home alone always reminding me of memories we shared together. I made the decision to sell my home of 25 years, moved into an apartment and worked on getting my life back.

My relationship with God has always been the focal point of my existence. It seems so many of us are just a few paychecks away from potentially being homeless. I've always tried to do whatever I could to help the people around me and now, I'm in need of help.

Last week when I was about to move into a new place, I was brutally assaulted (over 50 stab wounds and a left ear half chopped off). There were a couple moments that I felt as though I wouldn't see another day. But God still has plans for me on this earth. I just need a little help to get back on my feet.

I have a job lined up once I am healed and stable but, I am short of having the funds to secure a safe space. I am praying for help in gathering some funds to secure shelter and bills that are pileing up, and once again have a roof over my head. Even the smallest amount is greatly appreciated! Although my life has taken a turn in a very difficult direction, I am grateful to be alive and trust that people like you will help. Thank you for considering!
