Please help us fund the repair of our Telehandler damaged in the recent storms.

The sanctuary telehandler, which is essential to feed the animals, move the straw bales and remove soiled bedding from the barns, was flipped over during the recent storms while we were putting hay in the barns for the residents. The alternator shorted out when the telehandler got caught in the winds. This caused a massive power spike, blowing the alternator and some of the circuitry, causing the boom to go out to its full length, which, as the telehandler fell forwards, fractured it, leaving the machine balanced precariously on just two wheels.

It has taken a week for an engineer to assess the extent of the damage, during which, every day, we have had to roll and lift the huge 600kg bales into the barns to keep everyone fed and strawed. It really isn’t possible to keep this up indefinitely, moving and lifting 3 tons of feed and 2 tons of bedding by hand every 24 hours. It’s just physically impossible for the two of us to continue much longer.

We plan to use the money we have put aside to pay vets' bills and the donations we have received to date for repairs to the telehandler. Even so, we still face a shortfall of £2435 to cover the costs of replacing the boom, (which is second hand, to save money) and to do all the work necessary to get the telehandler functioning again. Once we have raised the money, the work can be carried out without delay, and we can get back to normal.

We would be very grateful if you would please give us your support and donate to this Appeal.
