Please donate to help my dad with medical bills

Hi everyone,

I'm Lisa and the man in those photos is my dad. Yes, in both of them - and there are mere months between them.

Between January and April 2024, my dad suddenly fell extremely ill. It started out with becoming breathless, not being able to move his left arm as freely, and continuously losing strength. A few steps from the bed to the bathroom would leave him panting like he'd just run a marathon. He also has a tumour on his leg, which was a "this should be looked at" situation not long ago and has rapidly grown into a concerning aspect.

Within a few months, he essentially became completely paralysed, unable to move his arms completely. He also has an obstruction to his oesophagus which leaves him unable to swallow anything. On some days, even water isn't possible. Additionally, there are symptoms such as a rash and open areas on his skin, extreme tiredness, malnourishment & dehydration, amongst other things.

As a result, he's currently in hospital, bed-bound and unable to care for himself.

My dad is only 61 years old. He has always been an independent man, enjoying life, getting things done. He was/is in Spain as all of this is happening, where the healthcare system is not ideal - plus there's a language barrier as his Spanish isn't fluent and the staff's English is essentially non-existent.

The examinations and treatments needed, and the urgency with which they need to be done, go far beyond anything any insurance would cover. A medical transport back to Germany, where he is originally from, would also go beyond any scope. This is why I am raising additional funds with this fundraiser, to help find a diagnosis quickly and ensure he gets the treatment he needs to stick around for a little while yet.
