Our pup, Rubio needs your help!

Our amazing, spunky little dude has to have emergency surgery on his lower back today for a herniated disc in his spine. A few days ago he came back from a beach walk looking completely fine and started to get wobbly. At first we thought that he might have had heat stroke but as the moments went on he lost control of his legs and started falling over. We rushed him to the vet. They put him on pain meds to see if it would get better and after a few days with crate confinement. We didn't see a change over a few days and his condition worsened to the point where he couldn't stand on his own to pee. We decided to bring him to the ER at the VCA in Sorrento Valley where he is now. He has lost all mobility in his hind legs and is in a lot of pain. The surgery is life saving. Without timely treatment this could have progressed quickly and caused irreversible damage to his little body. Unfortunately, due the severity of the situation the procedure is very expensive. We unfortunately do not have pet insurance for him and were quoted $10250USD as of right now. We have opted to open this up to GoFundMe to help cover some of the costs. Anything you can donate would really help, $10 or $20 even. We promise to pay it forward at some point if another family is in a similar position. We love this little nugget so much. We have only had him for a year and a half but he has made such an amazing impact on our little family and brings so much joy to our hearts. We will keep you all updated with photos and Rubio's recovery.
