Help Ezra Fight Medulloblastoma

Ezra is 6 years old & has Medulloblastoma (brain cancer).

On the 29th May 2024, he went for an eye test at 14:30, as he had been having headaches. He was sent for an MRI and at 18:30 we were told he had a brain tumour and were transferred by Ambulance to Alder Hey.

He had surgery to release the pressure the next morning.

On the 3rd June 2024 he had the tumour removed in an 8 hour surgery. Unfortunately on the 7th June the pressure had built up again due to a blood clot. He underwent emergency surgery to have a drain inserted into his head to drain the fluid. During this time he had complications with leaks, infection, and on the 23rd June he had surgery again to fit a brain shunt.

Sadly the testing of the tunour, and a lumbar puncture showed that he had High-Risk Medulloblastoma, Large Cell Anaplastic, Group 3, MYC Amplified, with spread to his spine.

The survival rate for this group is lower than the other groups, and it can progress through treatment

On the 25th June he started his 1st round of Chemotherapy, and completed his 2nd round of Chemotherapy on the 28th July. There will be Stem Cell transplants, High dose chemotherapy & radiotherapy in his future.

Ezra loves to play on the playstation, his favourite games are Knack & Unravel. He loves to draw & colour, visit the park & play with his younger brother Axel. He is kind, caring, creative, & loves to play pranks. He dislikes hospitals & is extremely sad he is unable to visit soft play (immunosuppressed).

We are hoping to raise money to help support this journey we are on, and cannot get off. To fund travel to our local hospital, food whilst there, hotel stays (when rooms at hospital accommodation are not available). To buy medical items not provided by the NHS (showerproof dressings, grip locks), accessories for his wheelchair etc. It would be great to buy activities for when he's in hospital.

He will need a lot of help to catch up with school. Educational resources would be great to make sure he gets the basics down.

Most importantly this will help us all make memories & spend time together as a family.
