We are Alsup Elementary in Commerce City, Colorado. We are a low-income school raising funds to attend an outdoor educational science overnight program in May.
In our community, at the young age of 10, we have overcome struggles that some will never experience in a lifetime.
This opportunity would allow us to experience hands-on learning in an outdoor environment as well as building community, amongst our classmates.
If able to raise the money needed, we will learn about mountain ecology while exploring trails and creeks. We will go on a night hike, explore the passage to the Hidden Room, learn about stream and pond ecology, and investigate sub-alpine flora and fauna.
We need to raise these funds by the end of April, to allow students who would not otherwise afford to attend. This would mean the world to us. Most of us would never have an opportunity to experience this type of educational program if it wasn't for generous people to support our cause. If we could raise the funds needed for all of us to attend, we would be forever thankful.
