In June we noticed Winston was having a little trouble getting up and when out walking. Pretty soon he was collapsing when standing, refusing walks and is now unable to use stairs. After consults at 4 different vets and specialists he was recently diagnosed with bilateral hip dysplasia with right sided luxoid dysplasia and severe secondary osteoarthritis. Basically this means one of his hips is permanently dislocated, and there isn’t enough joint left for it to go back in, and the other hip is wearing out. Due to his size, the only real option left for him is a full hip replacement surgery at the cost of approx £12,000 not including the months of physio that will be needed after.
Due to complications with Winston moving to the UK from the USA his insurance wouldn’t cover any issues with his legs or hips.
So far we have invested over £2,500 into diagnosis and medication.
We need your help to get Winston this surgery, and return him to being the happy and fun loving dog we all know. Even the smallest of donations will help us towards getting Winston back to his feet.
