Hello! A lot of you reading this you probably have some connection to me. Either through my Star Wars page (Plo Kool!), school, family, family friend, etc. and that means you also probably know that I was recently diagnosed with cancer for a second time. The first time, it was testicular cancer only present in my right testicle. I had surgery to remove it in August of 2022 and did not require chemotherapy. Peachy keen!
Cut to:
January 15th, 2024. Routine CT can to make sure things are all clear.
Cut to:
January 18th, 2024. Call from doctor. Things are not all clear! Cancer is back for another bout of fisticuffs. This time in my lungs and possibly lymph nodes. And this time requiring chemotherapy.
Damn it!
Thankfully, it is a very treatable form of cancer. But needless to say, chemotherapy costs a lot of money and not all of it will be covered by my family's insurance. I'm a college student, so shockingly, I also do not have a lot of money to spare. I was very hesitant to start a GoFundMe because it just felt weird to ask for money in such a forthcoming manner. But the truth is that both me and my family need it for multiple reasons.
Firstly, I need it so I can continue paying for my school tuition. Trying to juggle both the cancer and staying in school is difficult on its own. The financial burden of college is especially daunting. And I am unable to work at the moment.
Secondly, my family and I need it to pay for medical bills, and minor expenses that come along with battling cancer. By no stretch of the imagination am I expecting everything to get covered which is why I have kept the goal fairly moderate (I know, 15,000 is still a lot), but the slightest bit will help us out and mean the world to me. Genuinely. I have stalled on even starting this because it feels so weird to do so, but it never hurts to ask and I appreciate you even reading this far. So regardless of whether or not you donate: Thank you!
