Hi All,
We recently heard the tragic news of Ezequiel Vidal’s passing in Spain, leaving behind his wife, Roma, and their 9 year old son and 6 year old daughter.
As you may be aware, Ezequiel completed 3 years of fellowship training at the University of Toronto, 2 years at Toronto General Hospital and another year Sinai Health System- Mount Sinai Hospital.
Ezequiel was a caring, kind, and dedicated physician who always showed up with a positive and “we can get it done” attitude, even when presented with very complex surgical cases. He was a role model and support to other trainees and staff during challenging fellowships in the midst of a pandemic that has been very difficult for us all. He was a “fan favourite” of the OR and hospital staff. He cared about and for his patients. He loved work, but his family was always his priority and passion.
We would like to send our condolences to his wife as a group, letting her know how much Ezequiel meant to us. We would also like to send her some support during this traumatic time. She is currently alone in Spain, with the majority of their family in South America (Argentina). We are therefore initiating a fundraising drive and are reaching out to you for contributing to the fund. All the money raised will be sent to Ezequiel’s wife.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sharon Peacock
