This is incredibly hard to write, but I want to be vulnerable and transparent about where our family is right now. Since Kennedy’s leukemia diagnosis, our lives have changed in ways we never could have imagined—emotionally, mentally, and financially.
Because Kennedy is immunocompromised and unable to attend school, I had to step away from my job to become her primary caregiver. My days are spent managing her medical care, appointments, medications, and homeschooling, all while trying to keep her spirits lifted through something no child should ever have to face. The mental and emotional weight of caring for her full-time has made it impossible for me to pursue work or start a business, even though I wish I could.
Jason has taken intermittent family leave from his job to support Kennedy and be present during critical moments of her care. Unfortunately, this meant going several weeks without a paycheck, and to make things even more difficult, his Paid Family Leave benefits were denied. We’ve done everything we can to stay afloat, but the financial strain has become overwhelming.
Kennedy is a strong, sweet, and silly 7-year-old who absolutely loves spending time with friends and family. Since her diagnosis in July 2025, she has endured more than most adults ever will—procedures, transfusions, and frequent clinic visits—all with a bravery that leaves me in awe. She misses school and being with her friends more than anything, and watching her grieve that loss breaks my heart daily. Still, through it all, she remains positive, resilient, and has matured in ways no child should have to.
This fundraiser is not easy to ask for, but we are creating it to help ease some of the financial pressure so Jason and I can focus on what matters most: caring for Kennedy and being present for our family, including our two other girls, Charlotte and Delilah, who are also navigating this journey alongside us.
Every donation will go directly toward Kennedy’s medical expenses and our family’s basic living costs. Truly, no amount is too small—each contribution makes a meaningful difference and helps lift a burden we are carrying.
We also understand that not everyone is in a position to give financially. If that’s the case, simply sharing Kennedy’s story, keeping her in your thoughts and prayers, and sending love our way means more than you know.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for supporting our family in any way you can. We are deeply grateful.
With love and appreciation,
Jessica, Jason, Kennedy, Charlotte & Delilah
