I am a bassoonist in Northern Illinois and, due to the small number of bassoonists in the area, I am a part of many community ensembles using a school-owned instrument that has seen better days. Playing bassoon is a great passion of mine, and one I hope to continue through college and my life. In order to play at the professional level required for these ensembles, I will need a higher quality bassoon. Unfortunately, due to the immense price of bassoons, I am unable to purchase the quality of instrument that would allow me to reach a higher level of performance. This is why I am starting this gofundme, to hopefully acquire my own bassoon to pursue my passion for music.
