Circus Sonnenstich

Hallo allemaal,

Ik ben Veerle Supheert 23 jaar en ik studeer Theater in Education aan de Hogeschool voor de kunsten te Utrecht (HKU) voor mijn laatste project van jaar drie loop ik momenteel een interculturele stage van drie maanden in Berlijn bij Circus Sonnenstich dat onderdeel is van Zentrum für bewegte Kunst (ZBK). Zij werken met artiesten die trisomie 21 hebben, dit is de theoretische benaming voor het syndrome van down.

Bij Circus Sonnenstich werken ze met drie verschillende groepen.

1: Aufbau gruppe: Dit is een groep van +- 20 artiesten die 16+ zijn en al behoorlijk getraind zijn.

2: Starter gruppe: Dit is een groep van +- 15 artiesten die tussen de 9-16 zijn, deze jonge artiesten maken kennis met de bewegingsleer en de methodes waarmee ze werken.

3: Ensamble gruppe: Dit is een groep van +- 15 artiesten die tussen de 18-50 zijn, deze artiesten werken veelal langer in het circus en weten ook goed wat het inhoud om voorstellingen te spelen en te maken. Met de ensamble gruppe maken ze ook voorstellingen voor op het toneel.

Naast deze circus groepen worden er ook danstrainingen gegeven aan de mensen die al langer werken bij Sonnenstich/ZBK

En de artiesten kunnen ook een opleiding volgen bij ZBK om opgeleid te worden als (circus) trainer, Ze hebben jaarlijks 4 plekken beschikbaar voor deze functie. Dit is een soort werk leer traject, In de ochtend hebben zij zelf les waar ze leren een trainer te worden en in de middag werken ze als trainer bij de verschillende circus groepen. Ze bereiden de warming-ups voor, bewegingsgedichten en ondersteunen de andere trainers tijdens de les.

Ik ben deze crowdfunding gestart omdat ik het heel belangrijk vind dat deze organisatie kan blijven bestaan en dat ze hun dromen kunnen gaan waar maken! Één van de dromen is hun laatste voorstelling: Journey to Mimoto in meerdere theaters op te voeren. Helaas is hier geld voor nodig en het lijkt mij fantastisch om samen met jullie een bedrag in te zamelen wat ik aan het einde van mijn stage (12 juli) aan hen kan schenken zodat ze deze dromen kunnen waarmaken. I am Veerle Supheert, 23 years old, and I study Theatre in Education at the University of the Arts Utrecht (HKU). For my final project of the third year, I am currently doing a three-month intercultural internship in Berlin at Circus Sonnenstich, which is part of Zentrum für Bewegte Kunst (ZBK). They work with artists who have trisomy 21, the medical term for Down syndrome.

At Circus Sonnenstich, they work with three different groups:

1: Aufbau Gruppe: This is a group of approximately 20 artists who are 16+ and already quite trained.

2: Starter Gruppe: This is a group of approximately 15 artists aged between 9-16. These young artists are introduced to the movement theory and the methods they will be working with.

3: Ensemble Gruppe: This is a group of approximately 15 artists aged between 18-50. These artists have usually been working in the circus for a longer time and understand what it means to perform and create shows. The ensemble group also creates performances for the stage.

In addition to these circus groups, dance training is also provided to the people who have been working at Sonnenstich/ZBK for a longer time.

The artists can also follow a training program at ZBK to become (circus) trainers. They have four spots available for this function each year. This is a kind of work-study program. In the morning, they take classes to learn how to become trainers, and in the afternoon, they work as trainers with the different circus groups. They prepare the warm-ups, movement poems, and support the other trainers during the lessons.

I have started this crowdfunding because I believe it is very important for this organization to continue to exist and for them to realize their dreams! One of the dreams is to perform their latest show, Journey to Mimoto, in multiple theaters. Unfortunately, money is needed for this, and I think it would be fantastic to collect an amount together with you that I can donate to them at the end of my internship (July 12) so they can make these dreams come true.
