Piper’s Heart Surgery!!

Piper is a 4 month old Border Collie-mix who’s very shy but still very sweet. She’s my ESA and lives in my on-campus apartment with me. She’s very afraid of people so she’s shy at first but eventually warms up and gets very playful!

I took Piper to get her vaccinations and a check up recently and found out she has a heart murmur. According to the vet, the heart murmur is very loud and I have to take her to a cardiologist. Some dogs grow out of their heart murmurs, but unfortunately, Piper won’t grow hers out so she has to get surgery. If she doesn’t, her lifespan will be much shorter than it would be without the heart murmur.

I have money saved up for Piper but it isn’t enough. I didn’t expect myself to get a puppy who needs heart surgery so I didn’t raise enough for that. I’m not just trying to ask for money, I am working on raising it as much as I can, but the surgery (including procedures and medicine after) can be anywhere from $3,000-15,000 depending on how bad her heart murmur is. Like I said, I do have some money saved (and a job), it’s just not enough - which is why I decided to make this fundraiser.

I love my puppy very much. She keeps me very happy and I’m doing everything I can to make sure she’s okay. I knew adopting her would make me happy, but I didn’t expect myself to love her this much and be as happy with her as I am. Piper is an absolute sweetheart and it breaks my heart to hear that she’s undergoing a surgery I don’t have the money to pay for. Please help out in any way you can, even if it’s just a few dollars. She and I will really appreciate it
