UPDATE: Julie's friends have donated over $10,000 to help in her recovery--in under two days. I saw her just yesterday and told her the news about all of her friends' generosity, which had raised about $6k in less than a day. She is overwhelmed by your thoughtfulness and very thankful. Our dear friend, Julie Coffey, has endured a devastating loss today, Wednesday, August 19, 2020. After evacuating at midnight, she texted me the sad news this afternoon. She had lost her home, but she had escaped with all of her beloved dogs. She has lost all her possessions, but she only expressed relief that she was able to leave with what matters--her dogs.

All we ask--as lucky friends of Julie's kind, engaging energy and joyful, caring optimism--is that we support her at this time of devastating loss. Where do we begin? As friends who have enjoyed seeing her at Sacramento Valley Dog Fanciers meetings and at dog shows and at her lovely home for wine tastings, we would like us all to help her recover some sense of what that life was. Please find a way to help Julie as soon as you can so that we can get back to what brought us together to begin with--dogs and wine.
