Help us bring our mom home

Hello,

My name is Marissa, eldest daughter of Christine Liggett. She has 5 children. Myself, my sister Ashlee & my two brothers, Louis and Sergio. We also have a sister, Isabela, who our mom is now resting with, in heaven.

In January 2024, our mom was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Since then, my mom fought the hardest battle ANYONE has ever had to endure. The type of cancer she had was extremely aggressive. Causing her to be in the hospital since the week after we found out her diagnosis, until the day she passed. On March 22, 2024, my moms battle came to an end as she gained her wings to be with our little sister, Bela.

If you had the chance to meet our mom, you know how truly amazing she was. She gave her absolute all, to EVERYONE and loved everyone with her whole entire heart. Even our friends whom she didn’t get to meet, she loved them too. If we spoke about you, she loved you. If you were sick, she would make you food and bring it to you. If you were having a bad day, she’d tell you to come over so you can tell her all about it and she would make it better. Our mom was fearless. Cancer didn’t scare her, the thought of leaving her children is what scared her. But that feeling of being scared gave her the fuel to fight for as long and hard as she did!

My siblings and I are starting this fundraiser to help us bring our mom home to be with our little sister Bela. We currently live in Florida but we are from New York. Our little sister rests in New York. Along with our grandma. My moms, Mom. My mom, being as selfless as she is, didn’t want us to have to deal with a service/funeral and only wished to be brought back to New York so she can eternally be where the rest of her heart is. Even though we knew her diagnosis was terminal, the doctors were saying she still had MONTHS left of her battle but her body, had other plans. As her passing was not expected, my family and I were not prepared to have to bring her home so soon.

This fundraiser will help cover cost of travel expenses as well as giving her a service as amazing and beautiful as she was all while granting her one wish, bringing her home to be with our sister.
