On Monday, February 29th we were shocked and completly heartbroken to learn that we had all just lost a very dear friend and an all around rad person, Rachel Bishop to a tragic car accident.
We all have our special memories of her and we will all remember her as being very passionate about the many things that she loved, having a contageous enthusiasm and almost encylopedic knowledge for what she enjoyed from Transformers (she would stress Generation 1 only and of course not the Michael Bay travesty), M.U.S.C.L.E. (which she'd probably inform you stood for Millions of Unusual Small Creatures Lurking Everywhere) Star Trek, Captain America, video games, MST3K, pizza, horror movies, skulls, Danzig, and on and on.
She was always so great at making us laugh and had a high-five for everyone. She loved the local music scene, was a proud member of the trans and LGBT community, she was the greatest friend to animals, the best cat mom to Hazel and Molly and was always very eager to help her friends out in any way that she could.
Rachel had lost much of her biological family in recent years, so we, her friends and chosen family are asking for donations to fund her funeral costs. We think that this is the least that we could do for our amazing friend.
Words could never express how much your friends will miss you , Rachel. Akron will miss you. You were truly loved by so many. Thank you for touching our lives for the better.
