THE UNTIMELY PASSING OF MY PAPA—
THE PHOTOGRAPHER—SERVILLANO TAN

I guess by this time; you have known that my father has just passed away.

Servil was a loving, compassionate, patient, generous, hardworking professional photographer and a God-fearing husband, father, a big brother and was beloved by all those that knew him. Although an undergraduate electronics student, he was able to have his four children graduated from college through a photography studio he put up from scratch.

A very talented man with a unique positive mindset, he shared his talents to students and colleagues in photography. He encouraged people he saw with potentials to live their dreams.  He easily made friends wherever he went, sharing them with his knowledge and the love of God.

He came here in America on March 19, 2019, with my mom, very strong, healthy and vibrant as he usually was, to join me and my daughter.  On December 9 just last year, barely two days after he turned 75, he tested positive for coronavirus. Doctors who examined him said there was no evident symptoms for Covid-19, except his blood sodium was very low.

On December 13, we rushed him again to the hospital. This time his oxygen level was too low. The virus had infected his major organs forcing his heart to beat faster, working strenuously necessary to have the level of oxygen-filled blood needed. That was the last time I was with him inside the isolation room.

On December 29th at 4:30 pm, his heart shut down and he is now re-united with his creator.

Through a relative petition I filed years ago, they came here to join me and my daughter, who is now in college. As a single parent and the only earner in our family, I’m now in a very difficult predicament on how I can have the financial resources to answer for my father’s funeral and the possibility of transporting his remains to our hometown in the Philippines, and other expenses considering the dire situation I’m now in with the pandemic around us.

In the next few days, I have to raise the necessary amount for the cost that will entail the cremation of his remains, thus, I’m seeking your kind assistance in this matter, with whatever help you can extend to my family. No donation is too small, anything would be very much appreciated.

May God’s precious blood cover you from this invisible enemy. In Jesus name, Amen

Thank you so much.
